It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, to perform services related to the Service or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used.
• Usage Data refers to data collected automatically, either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
• You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.

When you register for Rentalk, we may collect:

• Authentication credentials (when using email/password login)

1.2 Social Sign-In Information

When you sign in using Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information including your name, email address, and profile picture as authorized by your social media account settings.

1.3 Location Information

With your permission, we collect your device's location to help you find rental properties near you and verify review authenticity. You can control location permissions through your device settings.

1.4 Review and Property Information

When you submit reviews, we collect:

• Property addresses and details
• Review text and ratings
• Photos you upload
• Date and time of submission
• Location data at time of review (optional, for verification purposes)

1.5 Usage Information

We automatically collect:

• Device information (type, operating system, unique device identifiers)
• App usage statistics and interactions
• Crash reports and performance data
• IP address and general location (city/region level)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Process and display your property reviews
• Verify the authenticity of reviews
• Provide location-based property search
• Send you notifications about reviews and app updates
• Improve our services and develop new features
• Prevent fraud and ensure platform security

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

3.1 Public Information

Your reviews, ratings, nickname, and profile picture are publicly visible to all Rentalk users. Your email address and phone number are never publicly displayed.

3.2 Service Providers

We share information with trusted service providers who assist us:

• Firebase/Google Cloud: Authentication, database, storage, and hosting
• Google Maps: Location services and mapping
• Expo: Mobile app development and push notifications

3.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Rentalk, our users, or others.

3.4 Business Transfers

If Rentalk is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

• Secure Firebase Authentication
• Regular security audits and updates
• Access controls and authentication requirements

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 Account Management

• Update Information: You can edit your profile, nickname, and contact information in the Account screen
• Profile Picture: Upload, change, or delete your profile picture at any time
• Reviews: Edit or delete your reviews from the My Reviews screen

5.2 Communication Preferences

You can control notification preferences in the Account screen, including review notifications and marketing emails.

5.3 Location Permissions

You can enable or disable location access through your device settings. Disabling location may limit some app features.

5.4 Data Access and Portability

You can request a copy of your data by contacting us at privacy@rentalk.app. We will provide your information in a structured, commonly used format.

5.5 Account Deletion

You can request account deletion through the Account screen or by contacting support. Upon deletion:

• Your account and personal information will be permanently deleted
• Your reviews will be anonymized (not deleted, to preserve community data)
• Your profile picture and identifiable information will be removed
• This action cannot be undone

6. Children's Privacy

Rentalk is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete it.

7. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States where our servers are located. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

8. Third-Party Links

Rentalk may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as Google Maps). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of Rentalk after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
